Forme algébrique d’un nombre complexe

Proposition

  • \(\mathbb{C}\) contient un élément \(i\) tel que \(i^2 = -1\).

  • Tout \(z \in \mathbb{C}\) s’écrit de façon unique sous la forme \(z = a + ib\), avec \(a, b \in \mathbb{R}\).

Définition

Soit \(z = a + ib\), \(a, b \in \mathbb{R}\).

Exemple

« Lecture des parties réelle et imaginaire. »
Soit \(z_1 = 5 + 7i\), \(z_2 = 1 - i\), \(z_3 = 5\), \(z_4 = 3i\).

  • \(\mathrm{Re}(z_1) = 5\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_1) = 7\).

  • \(\mathrm{Re}(z_2) = 1\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_2) = -1\).

  • \(z_3 \in \mathbb{R}\) : \(\mathrm{Re}(z_3) = 5\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_3) = 0\).

  • \(z_4 \in i\mathbb{R}\) : \(\mathrm{Re}(z_4) = 0\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_4) = 3\).

Égalité et opérations dans \(\mathbb{C}\)

Proposition

Soient \(z = a + ib\) et \(z' = a' + ib'\).

  • \(z = z' \Longleftrightarrow a = a' \text{ et } b = b'\).

  • \(z = 0 \Longleftrightarrow a = 0 \text{ et } b = 0\).

Proposition

Soient \(z = a + ib\) et \(z' = a' + ib'\).

  • \(z + z' = (a + a') + i(b + b')\).

  • \(z \times z' = (aa' - bb') + i(ab' + a'b)\).

  • \(\dfrac{1}{z} = \dfrac{a - ib}{a^2 + b^2}\) si \(z \neq 0\).

Exemple

« Opérations en forme algébrique. »
Mettre \(z = \dfrac{1+i}{1-i}\) sous forme algébrique.

Solution. On multiplie par le conjugué \(1 + i\) :
\[z = \dfrac{(1+i)(1+i)}{(1-i)(1+i)} = \dfrac{(1+i)^2}{1^2 + 1^2} = \dfrac{1 + 2i + i^2}{2} = \dfrac{2i}{2} = i.\]

Application

Mettre sous forme algébrique :

  • \(z_1 = (2+3i)(-1+i)\)

  • \(z_2 = (1+\sqrt{3}\,i)(1-\sqrt{3}\,i)\)

  • \(z_3 = -\dfrac{1}{4i}\)

  • \(z_4 = \dfrac{1}{2+3i} + (2+i)^2\)

  • \(z_5 = \left(\dfrac{1+i}{1-i}\right)^{14}\)

  • \(z_6 = (3-2i)^2 - (3+2i)^2\)

Remarque

Pour tout \(z \in \mathbb{C}\) : \(z \in \mathbb{R} \Longleftrightarrow \mathrm{Im}(z) = 0\) et \(z \in i\mathbb{R} \Longleftrightarrow \mathrm{Re}(z) = 0\).

À faire à la maison
  1. Mettre sous forme algébrique : (a) \(z = \dfrac{(2+i)^3}{1 - i}\) ;(b) \(z = \dfrac{1}{(1+i)^{10}}\).

  2. Soit \(z = (3 + i)^2 - (1 - 2i)^2\). Calculer \(\mathrm{Re}(z)\) et \(\mathrm{Im}(z)\).

  3. Déterminer les réels \(a\) et \(b\) tels que \((2 + i)a + (3 - 2i)b = 1 + 4i\).

  4. Résoudre dans \(\mathbb{C}\) : (a) \(iZ - 1 = Z + 3i\) ;(b) \(\dfrac{Z + i}{Z - i} = i\).

Représentation géométrique

Le plan \((\mathcal{P})\) est muni d’un repère orthonormé direct \((O\,;\vec{e_1}\,;\vec{e_2})\).

  • Le vecteur \(\vec{u}(x\,;y)\) est appelé vecteur image de \(z\) ; \(z\) est l’affixe de \(\vec{u}\), notée \(\mathrm{aff}(\vec{u})\).

Proposition

Soient \(A(z_A)\), \(B(z_B)\) deux points du plan complexe.

Exemple

« Affixe d’un parallélogramme. »

Solution. \(ABCD\) parallélogramme \(\Longleftrightarrow \overrightarrow{AB} = \overrightarrow{DC} \Longleftrightarrow z_B - z_A = z_C - z_D\), donc \(z_D = z_C - z_B + z_A = 3 - (1-i) + 2i = 2 + 3i\).

Application

Soient \(A(2i)\), \(B(1-i)\), \(C(3)\).

Proposition

\[A,\,B,\,C,\,D \text{ cocycliques } \Longleftrightarrow \dfrac{z_A - z_B}{z_C - z_B} \times \dfrac{z_C - z_D}{z_A - z_D} \in \mathbb{R}.\]

Dans le plan complexe muni d’un repère orthonormé direct \((O\,;\vec{e_1}\,;\vec{e_2})\), on considère les points \(A(2 + i)\), \(B(-1 + 3i)\), \(C(-3 - i)\).

  3. Soit \(M\) le milieu de \([AC]\) et \(M'\) le milieu de \([BD]\). Vérifier que \(M = M'\) et interpréter.

  • \(\overline{\left(\dfrac{z}{z'}\right)} = \dfrac{\overline{z}}{\overline{z'}}\) (\(z' \neq 0\))

  • \(\overline{z^n} = \overline{z}^{\,n}\)

  • \(\overline{\overline{z}} = z\)

  • \(z + \overline{z} = 2\,\mathrm{Re}(z)\)

  • \(z - \overline{z} = 2i\,\mathrm{Im}(z)\)

  • \(z \in \mathbb{R} \Longleftrightarrow \overline{z} = z\)

  • \(z \in i\mathbb{R} \Longleftrightarrow \overline{z} = -z\)

Exemple

  3. Montrer que le triangle \(ABC\) est équilatéral.
