Forme algébrique d’un nombre complexe

Définition

Proposition

Il existe un ensemble noté \(\mathbb{C}\), appelé ensemble des nombres complexes, qui contient \(\mathbb{R}\) et vérifie :

  • \(\mathbb{C}\) contient un élément \(i\) tel que \(i^2 = -1\).

  • Tout \(z \in \mathbb{C}\) s’écrit de façon unique sous la forme \(z = a + ib\), avec \(a, b \in \mathbb{R}\).

Définition

Soit \(z = a + ib\), \(a, b \in \mathbb{R}\).

On note \(i\mathbb{R} = \{ib \mid b \in \mathbb{R}\}\) (cet ensemble contient \(0\)).

Exemple

Soit \(z_1 = 5 + 7i\), \(z_2 = 1 - i\), \(z_3 = 5\), \(z_4 = 3i\).

  • \(\mathrm{Re}(z_1) = 5\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_1) = 7\).

  • \(\mathrm{Re}(z_2) = 1\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_2) = -1\).

  • \(z_3 \in \mathbb{R}\) : \(\mathrm{Re}(z_3) = 5\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_3) = 0\).

  • \(z_4 \in i\mathbb{R}\) : \(\mathrm{Re}(z_4) = 0\), \(\mathrm{Im}(z_4) = 3\).

Égalité et opérations dans \(\mathbb{C}\)

Proposition

Soient \(z = a + ib\) et \(z' = a' + ib'\).

  • \(z = z' \Longleftrightarrow a = a' \text{ et } b = b'\).

  • \(z = 0 \Longleftrightarrow a = 0 \text{ et } b = 0\).

Proposition

Soient \(z = a + ib\) et \(z' = a' + ib'\).

  • \(z + z' = (a + a') + i(b + b')\).

  • \(z \times z' = (aa' - bb') + i(ab' + a'b)\).

  • \(\dfrac{1}{z} = \dfrac{a - ib}{a^2 + b^2}\) si \(z \neq 0\).

Exemple

Mettre \(z = \dfrac{1+i}{1-i}\) sous forme algébrique.

  • \(z_3 = -\dfrac{1}{4i}\)

  • \(z_4 = \dfrac{1}{2+3i} + (2+i)^2\)

  • \(z_5 = \left(\dfrac{1+i}{1-i}\right)^{14}\)

  • \(z_6 = (3-2i)^2 - (3+2i)^2\)

Remarque

Pour tout \(z \in \mathbb{C}\) : \(z \in \mathbb{R} \Longleftrightarrow \mathrm{Im}(z) = 0\) et \(z \in i\mathbb{R} \Longleftrightarrow \mathrm{Re}(z) = 0\).
